I wish indeed could do something about the hundreds of misleading job posts. I have applied for over 100 jobs in the past month. My resume is short, has one government job I’ve held a position at for about 4 years now but I’m looking for something that pays more. Yet all I get interviews for are jobs called “account executive” You’d think you’d be doing some customer service and the like. Nope. (Even though the job description says so, it trickles in bits of crap that suggests otherwise.) Every single one I come across has extremely vague job descriptions about how you’ll “act as a liaison for our services in a wide range of retail markets” meaning you’re the asshole in costco flagging down people trying to sell some snake oil product. Why aren’t these listings required to say it’s a sales job? No where on any of these listings do they say you’ll be selling things. Just that you’re an “expert in operating accounts for clients ”
Has anyone found frustration with this or is it just me?
Last interview I had a few days ago, I overheard the interviewer say Costco and immediately walked out. THAT IS NOT WHAT A CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVE DOES. I want a job remotely assisting customers/employees with product/software problems they’re having as that is my background. Not selling Karen a protein bar that will magically get rid of her love handles
