So for context my husband works in Upstate New York for a growing butcher business. I am pregnant right now and not working due to that but I bring him his lunch every day and pick him up from work. When he got the job he was told it was a 7-5 job with a 30 min lunch break at noon. However it seems he often works over that period up to 6 and they don’t let him have his lunch at a consistent time. Sometimes he will be off for break at 11:30 today it was 1:00. Because of this I’m having to spend up to 2 hours of my day waiting in a parking lot because we don’t know when he will be out, and he always comes out absolutely exhausted and starving. I’m just curious, it is legal in NY to work someone for 10+ hours with only one 30 minute break for that whole day, and for them to not let him out at a set time?
