Partially making this post to vent, but also asking a legitimate question for my sanity
I was let go from my job at a large insurance company after almost 4 years back in September. A combination of burnout and depression led to some performance issues and I was canned.
But since then, it's been downhill. I've applied to hundreds of jobs where my experience directly translates over, but I don't even get so much as an interview. And when I do, they found other candidates that “better fill the roll”. I don't have a degree, but I have the collective years of work experience that basically equates to one. I have my license for Claims Adjustment, which most companies want anyways. So what gives? I see job postings EVERYWHERE for my field but I just can't even get my foot in the door. Is having a degree THAT important? Do I need to change careers? I don't even know what to do anymore.
