Is it worth it?

Hi everyone. For some context, I’m a 17 year old. Recently I was hired at a new location for a sports bar. I also recently came down with strep throat, so I have had to miss the last two days of training. Yesterday when I said I would not be able to make it because I could barely speak (talking to customers is a large part of my job), they told me “well then, the way I’m hearing this, this sounds like an unexcused absence.” Today, I called off again. Hi everyone. For some context, I’m a 17 year old.

Recently I was hired at a new location for a sports bar. I also recently came down with strep throat, so I have had to miss the last two days of training. Yesterday when I said I would not be able to make it because I could barely speak (talking to customers is a large part of my job), they told me “well then, the way I’m hearing this, this sounds like an unexcused absence.”

Today, I called off again. I can barely stand, it hurts to talk, I’m stuffy, and my response time is extremely delayed. They told me “well you’ve missed two days of training, tomorrow we’ll call you and have a discussion about it.”

In all honesty, the way they handled it makes me not even want the job anymore. It’s not my fault I’m sick. It’s $14 an hour, but I could easily find something better suited to me. What do I do? Should I even bother continuing to pursue the job? Any advice is really appreciated, thank you.
