I have been in this start up for more than a year now. There have been some red flags and I am so close to quit.
I felt like you need to be certain type of people to work with the rest. They are mostly the over achievers and quite smart. Probably they are getting lots of shares of the company. But sometimes it feels like they are saying something to be smart but not constructive. Also just felt there is lack of trust because they think the other is not as intelligent and might screw things up.
If you are not that type they are also not interested in you personally. They would cancelled the one-on-one meetings just like that, not trying to reschedule or anything. Or a 30 mins call would end in 10 mins because they have nothing to talk about with me. Even though I’m trying to get their ideas or share my opinions, conversation just died down and seems like my points were unimportant.
Sometimes that makes me thing if I’m just a boring person that no one is interested in talking to me or what. Or if it’s a remote work thing. But I go to the office sometime and I to be honest don’t think there’s much different in person.
It wasn’t like that in my previous work, I had work friends and we could talk about anything outside work and we still keep in good contact.
Is it a normal thing in other work place too?
