I keep seeing people with business degrees and corporate backgrounds on Tiktok and YouTube talking about how no one is hiring. Meanwhile, my 17 yr old is in his HS trades program has local contractors waving job applications at these kids with starting pay of $24 an hour.
And my jealous clerical ass is seething because it's taken me 16 years of Federal Service to get to $30 an hour.
$24 an hour for basic carpentry and construction skills. Dang.
He might actually be able to buy a house one day and I can live in his basement!
