I have been having a lot of wild thoughts lately and I wanted to share it with someone because I'm loosing my shit.
In the past 6 years i have went through 3 layoffs and one job burnout, i went from 70k to 45k to 50k then 60k . I'm starting to realize that this is meant to keep you struggling. Even at 60k I just getting by and now the risk for another layoff is coming around the corner.
Being stuck in a 30 year mortgage is absolutely comical and pure comedy. They don't really expect people to pay that off on a 50 or 70k salary. You'll be a slave to that job and put up with abuse so you don't lose your job but in the end you'll endup with a layoff or get fired for random reasons. And meanwhile you get 1% riases that will basically do nothing and also not to mention if you endup with expensive repairs you'll never afford them.
There is even cases where if you stay in a company for too long you become too “expensive” to keep.
The thoughts that bothered me alot lately is that even if I was the department head in my company making like 100-150k it will still take me an absurd amount of time to pay off an average home (avg homes in california are 500k] Possibly years of aggressive saving. Meanwhile there are some fools who blow 500k on a car. I always wondered why I never cross path with these people till I did one day in the gym and realized one important thing. They don't go to the same places we do. They don't work average jobs. They may not be even jobs, some just live off investments and rentals and interest rates. 1 million dollar in the bank will generate 50k in interest which is enough for bills and an average lifestyle if you don't work.
The mentality of these people is a whole different level. He basically tells me he will rather kill himself rather than work for someone. But also he was so far out of touch with reality. He thought the economy is doing excellent. There are thousands of jobs. He have no idea how bad is it out there to have a job because he didn't have one for a very long time. He has 40 rental units and lives off then income they generate. Pretty much a leach in society that contributes nothing. The thing is that he created a lifestyle out of being a leach. Traveling and fancy cars and never ever having to work.
He also thinks that him offering his workers 12/hr isn't labor exploitation but more like creating jobs and opportunities for them and they chose to take it… not only that but also they should be grateful.
I really didn't know what to say because even though he is an asshole but he is right from a bussiness owner perspective. We need workers that are paid so little so we can keep more money. Makes sense.
Im so fedup with the world but especially rich people who are completely out of touch with reality. They are simply choosing to ignore the reality.
