I was told by the AGM today that we dont have an end time, and we can leave when the manager says we can leave. Which in my state the work laws consider this kidnapping and highly illegal to force an employee to stay past their schedualed time. They have zero care for the fact that I have a life outside of work, and that im PART TIME. They expect me to do anything and everything they say and stay for however long they say they want me too. Ive also gotten yelled at multiple times bc the system they use for orders is shitty and fucks up constantly, but yet they blame me, the person not even touching anything.
I have 5 years of kitchen experince from head chef to dishwasher and everything in between. I like the work but I dont know if I can continue to work in an industry where most of the management is people who shouldnt deserve to be managers, and only have the job bc of the amount of time working there…
Any ideas what I should transition too?? Im trying to get a car/my liscence as soon as possible but its rough as my family and I are living paycheck to paycheck.
