Last yeat April, I spoke to the floor director at my office job about a raise they had promised the whole floor (about 45 people) a year prior and have not delivered on it.
To my suprise, she not only gave me a raise but also a promotion to supervisor because I was amazing at my job. She also promoted the current supervisor to assistant manager and told us that if the current manager leaves, we would get bumped up the ladder right away and receive the raise that comes with it.
Fast forward to November 2022, the manager had quit 3 months before and although the assistant got the title of manager, I did not get the title of assitant and neither of us got a raise.
I thought it was too soon and I should wait. Since then, they hired 2 new managers that I have had to train, as well as learn how to use Excel and bunch of other programs, run reports train, and do the job of the manager. I figured enough time has passed and I took on all these responsibilities and tasks so it should be a good time to ask again.
I was denied as “I just got a raise recently”. Meanwhile i learned that a new girl who had just started during that time went from $15 to $18 to what I make now, $22 for no real reason and that happened in like 7 months for her….i hate this place
