I grabbed my wallet but stopped at the door after work. I was going to go to the gas station and grab something alcoholic. But I remembered all the progress that I made. So instead I sat at my computer and put in job applications. I got a call back immediately and interviewed at a new business in town. Fingers crossed….
I just can't be somewhere where my mental health is at stake. Whether I'm in the right or wrong, I have to explore my options if I'm getting close to drinking out of impulse again.
I didn't drink today and I am glad. I've put in other job applications as well. It's just time for me to move on to hopefully a healthier environment for me.
Can anyone relate?
I realize it's not just the work environment but this particular job is expecting more out of me than other employees who get the same pay. I did some investigating and found this out and that led to the “discussion” that had me so stressed out. But I got my exact proof and so I think it's just time to move on. I could go to Human Resources but my experience with HR is that they wait for non-managers to quit before really doing anything. Easier resolution.
FYI I'm a housekeeper for context. On probation and it's hard to find work with my criminal record.
