Jealousy ruins the workplace

Well, essentially I've been actively building up a new database for the company I work with, but a worker who I have to see every day has done her best to make me look terrible. I've been told by several friends of mine in nearly every department, and even by several higher ups that she has been making me look terrible. I've noticed that none of the others in my position stay long, and I've been told by multiple managers unprompted to “not let her get in my head.” Despite this, the constant lecturing has really ruined my job experience and made working hard. It would seem she is uncomfortable with me for several reasons. Firstly is that I am the youngest to ever work as a scientist in that department by at least 2 years, and we also both have a “hardship/come up story”. Secondly I've been getting a lot of recognition from management, who she now every day brags about talking to all the time, even underhandedly mentioning saying essentially she was complaining directly to her about me (her being second in command of the corporation). She literally tore me a new one and refused to hear it when I explained there was a major issue I had to work directly with the president and vice president on, repeating over and over “you still had time to do *insert task*, I know this job!” Now, after constant discouragement I learned that my database would replace her excel forms. If I pull this up, things could be great for me, but I'm literally about ready to finish this, say on my resume I developed a laboratory database and data management software and bounce. It's weird too because she can be incredibly kind and friendly, but when she is having a bad day or insecure her claws come out and she tries to gut me and fuck with my credibility. I don't get paid enough to be willing to compete against her for favor of the corporate overlords. Literally everywhere I work has this problem. I get along with everyone, and there is always an older long-hauler who refuses to train me, misleads me, or tries to psych me out to the point I can't even do my job. How do you all cope with this?
