JHSC at a food factory

I used to work at a food factory as a basic packer. I worked my way up to being a jack of all trades. Eventually I joined their JHSC. My first two meetings I would bring up issues such as “people are dropping raw chicken breasts on the floor, washing it off and putting it right back in the tumbler”. Their response was “that's a food safety concern, not a health and safety concern”. The third meeting I just kept my mouth shut until I was asked my opinion. I responded with “my concerns are mainly with the sanitary conditions of this factory. Our employees are safe and I have yet to see a real safety concern for them. I'm worried about the health and safety of our customers”. The response was “we understand but that's not what we deal with during these meetings”. I quit shortly after that and…

I also joined their JHSC and my opinions are actually listened to now.

Don't eat KFC chicken fingers or halal chicken breasts that come in a blue box in Canada. That is a couple of products they make at that factory.
