“Job abandonment”

I just got fired due to a claim that I had abandoned my job. On 05/01/23 I messaged my boss letting him know that I had severely injured my hand during a personal incident(I attempted rearranging my furniture and my hand got stuck in a treadmill that collapsed on me). On 05/16/23 I returned to work and 6 hours into my shift I received an email saying that I was being terminated due to job abandonment. They also terminated me saying my manager reached out “several times” to no response and I have proof that they never did. Not a single message or anything.

P.S- my employer never paid me for the last day worked as payday was today and I received nothing.
