I live and work in the US, in the Tri state area (PA, NJ, NY). I've been working security for about 3 years and started with a new company December 2022. It was shit pay, and I started part time but eventually got a full time position. I was told it was a union job with benefits. Bet! Fastforward to August 2023. I was removed from my job post without a reason. When I asked my manager he told me flat out that the manager of the building I worked, who hates my guts, called and had me removed and never even said why. I got a few random shifts over the next few weeks but eventually the company ghosted me.
I found out last night that my unemployment claim is being investigated and I'm being audited because my employer told them that my hours were never reduced. And then unemployment received word that I've gone back to work somehow. I'm still unemployed and haven't worked since the beginning of September.
It really feels like my company screwed me big time. I don't think there's anything legally I can do other than keep trying to prove my case, but who knows how long that could take. Fuck work! Fuck Corporate America! I'm starting a fucking Cult in the woods
