The interview process is ridiculous and harmful to mental health.
I have a degree. I had a career . I customize resumes, cover letters, and emails. I have a beautiful portfolio. I am friendly and professional. I have completed additional certification and stay up-to-date in my field but all I keep getting is rejected. I've been unemployed for almost two months now and I am so burnt out from job hunting.
I was rejected today after the interview process was drawn out for a month. I put SO many hours into this company and literally have nothing to show for it now. After an initial phone screen and interview, they requested I prepare 20 minute case study presentation and to anticipate a panel of questions. I prepared for roughly 15 hours. Did my 20 minute presentation and answered 40 minutes worth of questions beautifully. Everything seemed great. Each person from the panel reached out to me afterwards but today, I got the, “we are going with a more qualified candidate” email from the recruiter.
I want to give up but obviously that isn't an option. I hate that I have to wake up tomorrow and look at my damn resume again and find more meaningless BS to spend time on. I'm exhausted but money is dwindling every day. Fuck this system.
