I don’t know if this the proper subreddit for this but I am looking for answers so when I approach the GM will a list of shit he is breaking I don’t sound like a fool. Currently I am building a case on there new water policy.
Our food cost at my job has gone up a small percentage and they decided to ban the access to the plastic water bottles (that we buy in bulk) and if we would like them we must pay 2 dollars for one. We have plenty of kitchen sinks around my work area and “handwashing only” sinks but the closest water cooler/fountain is in the break room (which is down stairs probably about 100+ ft away from my main work area) I am a banquet server and almost never have time to find a way down there to take some water, same with many other servers like me.
I did some reading on OSHA and it seems that as long as potable water is available they do not need to be providing plastic bottled water. But what is considered potable? Any sink? Also they say it needs to be accessible, is this referring to how close it is to all areas of the property? I would like to get some help with this so I can have my GM stop acting like an ass with all these cut throat changes. Water should not be so limited in my opinion.
