So admittedly I didn't learn my lesson the first time by staying with this company after they laid off 150 workers and friends and they retained some including me in 2020. They downsized our project to about 50 workers in the same contract. They then said the contract was ending and I was supposedly one of the better ones there. We had one lady let's call her Debra who has been there around 5 and a half years. I've been there 4 and a half yrs. Debra didn't have access to the jobs we were doing so Debra would you just sit behind her work laptop at home and say hello and goodbye to all and get paid for it. She avoided any meetings and said she had illnesses from respiratory issues to back issues for a whole year. We were all supposed to be laid off and had group meeting about it. They retained Debra and the rest of the workers except maybe 15 or so. Jobs I was going to interview for were canceled supposedly because lack of funds. They also didn't bother to move me to other contracts like they did the rest and they notified the rest they were staying but in another job or contract only 2 business days before the rest were laid off including me. Would I have any recourse here? We also have a high clearance level for the government. I'm in awe this company didn't do anything for us and some were here longer than I was.
