job refusing availability change so i can care for my dying grandmother?

about a month ago, i (21F) started a job as an auto technician at a large chain. i thought i genuinely loved my job until this morning, when i asked my employer to change one day on my availability. i had my availability set 6 days a week, open until close, with thursdays off for a consistent date to schedule my appointments. i was being scheduled 6 days a week and it was okay until my grandmother fell very ill and we don’t know if she has much time left. i asked my boss to change my availability to include wednesdays off and tried to explain my situation. he cut me off and said “no.” and told me “i was hired in at this availability”. i started getting emotional so i excused myself and had a panic attack in the bathroom. my boss heard me crying through the door and…

i started getting emotional so i excused myself and had a panic attack in the bathroom. my boss heard me crying through the door and told me if i wanted to “hang out” in the bathroom i needed to clock out. i would understand saying no if it was just because i didn’t feel like coming to work that day, but my grandmother is dying. what am i supposed to do? do i have any legal rights? should i just put my two weeks in and leave? money isn’t an issue to me and no job will ever be more important to me than my grandmother.
