manage your expectations regarding co-workers

I posted this in response to another post complaining about a boss who talked religion and politics at work. I think it will provide some perspective to wage earners and help them understand a big difference between the work-lives of labor and management. Enjoy. Some American corporations “offshore” recruitment, screening, and hiring of candidates in certain job classifications. They do this to skirt US employment regulations that can shield bad apples. Unsurprisingly, organizations know that fascists, racists, misogynists, theists, anti-vaxxers and their like are detrimental to morale and productivity in the workplace. They're far more likely to be troublemakers. Ask any HR professional what causes the majority of personnel conflict cases, and that list or one very similar will be their answer. The practice is expensive and time consuming, so it is generally confined to mid- and (mostly) upper-management salaried positions. If you are a front-line, lower level wage earner…

The practice is expensive and time consuming, so it is generally confined to mid- and (mostly) upper-management salaried positions. If you are a front-line, lower level wage earner at a (usually) larger successful company, and you notice “uppers” are happy while you are sad, rest assured those smiles persist not only because those wearing them are paid very well, but (perhaps especially) because they’re not dealing with as many (if any) low-brow crackpot coworkers as you are.

That’s just the way it is.
