Job vs Family/Health

I find myself at a crossroads… When I took my current role it was with the understanding that I could work from home as needed, which was ideal as I have a little one and a parent who was recently diagnosed with ALS – all of which was disclosed to my employer. Fast forward to today – I have not been able to WFH and every time I need a day, I end up using sick time or it is unpaid. I feel like I'm walking a fine line, yes, they're sympathetic to a point, but they're running a business. I'm the one who has to figure out the balance. I was out Friday, Monday and potentially today, to deal with everything that's been happening and I just know that I will get a talking to, potentially let go upon my return.
