Just a fun little story from my past

Back when i was still working for minimum wage for a small company i tried to explain to my boss at the time that it wasn't enough to pay my rent and other bills. I did quite a lot of work for the company and believed I deserved a livable wage. He told me that was not his problem and my job was not skilled enough to warrant a higher wage. As a side note this same boss once bragged to me about how he had had “hundreds of employees”, despite the company never employing more than 10 people at a time. Fast forward and i turned in my two week notice. He told me that i should not quit and if i stayed we could “work something out”. He offered to personally pay part of my rent and phone bill, as in he would write a check every month…

Fast forward and i turned in my two week notice. He told me that i should not quit and if i stayed we could “work something out”. He offered to personally pay part of my rent and phone bill, as in he would write a check every month to give to my landlord and phone company. I of course refused, on the grounds that that was psychotic.
