I chatted with a recruiter from a big retail company for a sourcing role about 2 weeks ago. The salary wasn’t to my expectations after taking the call. Fine! I wasn’t sure if I was all that interested anyway.
Next day towards the end of working hours, they asked if I could schedule 2 hour long interviews preferably back to back. I didn’t get back to them since it was late in day so the following morning they followed up. Ok plz relax.
I’ve honestly never really put up boundaries when it comes to work so I said thank you anyway but I’ll pass because the salary wasn’t aligned with what I’m looking for. Truly have never done this in my life. I was proud of myself!
IMMEDIATELY I get an email being like ok let’s see what we can do! In my first recruiter call I mentioned I actually knew a guy at their company in HR bc he used to be my HRBP at my current job. I guess word gets around fast bc he didn’t know I even applied or had a call but he texted me and said he heard I dropped out. I explained I’m not looking to make a lateral move so he said he would help out with that and see what he could do as well. Not really me dropping out but ok!! This was also a Friday.
Following week I set up a 2nd call with them to talk salary expectations to see if we could make it work before I interview. The call was scheduled for last Friday at 430pm. The recruiter doesn’t show up so I email her at 445 asking if everything is ok and she emails back 3 min later and says so sorry running late be there soon.
By 503 she hasn’t showed up so I log off and say I had another engagement at 530 and had to leave. At the same time she emails and asks if I can join. But then I guess she sees my email and asks if we can meet Monday.
I respond Sunday evening and say Monday afternoon works and ask what time is good for her. I’m trying to give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe there was an emergency on Friday and she couldn’t email me and tell me.
It’s now 5pm Monday and I haven’t heard from her lololol
Now I’m done with them ️
