I just started a new job after getting laid off at my previous one. I’ve always had Sundays off over the past few years. I did not tell my current employer that I’d need Sundays off prior to getting hired, as I should have. However, I did tell them day one that I’d really appreciate having Sundays off the first day I met my manager. She told me that she’s very accommodating and would do her best to make that happen. Fast forward two weeks and we had a conversation about the schedule again. She told me she’d be able to give me “some” Sundays off, but that we’d switch to a rotating schedule in the future. Then I requested for a specific Sunday off, February 12th – the super bowl. My family throws a yearly super bowl party and I’ve never missed it. My request was denied and my boss won’t even let me leave early to catch the game. At this point I don’t care to continue my employment with this company if I can’t have Sundays off. What would you recommend I do from here?
