Just venting about my new job

So I started a new job as a lab tech making $14 at a factory that tests power washers. Life tests and whatnot, we normally just run them til they break. In-doors with these shoddy ass exhaust hoses to extract the CO. The CO is still usually high, sometimes reading up to 400ppm in one of the lab rooms. No one really cares about this job. The factory here is kind of a joke. They don't drug test and pay close to minimum wage on the assembly lines and whatnot. My supervisor is a different story. He makes like $16 and he's super fucking serious about everything, even though this entire department will likely be shut down and moved to their main production facility in just a couple years. Our big boss is a Vice President in another fucking state who we communicate via email and sometimes phone. The job…

The job itself is pretty chill, and since my supervisor “can't get up early” to be on first shift, he works on second shift, so I only see him a couple hours out of the day. The dude is an insufferable tool. I just don't even get why he takes the job so seriously. He's originally from Germany and has an American mom, so he has a German accent, a lisp, and he's stuck in the US because he has 6 kids. Hes in his late 30s. I could get a way better job, but this is pretty close to my home. My supervisor is a decently smart guy, but he's super arrogant, treats us like toddlers. I used to work as an accounts specialist and an IT guy for a city, and I have years of IT experience. I just find it funny and sad. I'm working 4 10s and have 3 day weekends though, so that's kind of nice.

Sorry for the weird rant. I have so much to say but can't think of anything else and just wanted to post something here about it.
