worked in a Kelsey's restaurant in a different city for about a year. I've always been good about my attendance through my working life but this place had pushed me to the limit. It had been a toxic work environment created by the general manager and owner running the restaurant in two different directions and talking crap about each other. And I had even had an arrangement with them for a fixed yet unofficial salary. Basically so I could work overtime and not get paid the overtime pay. That way they would give me more than 40 hours. But after about 6 months working 6 days a week and an entire month even working 7, I wanted five days a week. And defycluld have fulfilled my 50 hours within five days. But my general manager who was very toxic, wouldn't give me 2 days off a week. At the time as well, I was traveling to a different city in my days off so it made things very difficult. Because of that and just the toxic way things were, I ended up missing a few Mondays and I quit without giving notice. It's been about a year but I have interview in another Kelsey's in another city. Being part of recipe inc, they definitely could connect with each other. But I think I could explain how toxic it was, since I'm normally a great worker who shows up. How should I approach the situation? I wanted to address what happened at the other Kelsey's and explain my side without getting into too much detail.
