Came into a small company, had a lovely interview with two of the juniors. Was told the director would like to see me, they walk right past the room. Fifteen minutes later they come in and say they have an important, last minute zoom meeting “do you mind going and busying yourself for 30 minutes? You havent got anywhere to be do you” well I need money and every month it's getting to be more of a struggle paying rent so fine.
Come back 30 minutes later, still nothing. It's absolutely freezing outside so figured I'd wait in their reception area. An hour goes by before they come to interview me, which was full of prying questions about what my family does (?)and what skills I'd bring. Am over qualified for the role, and my CV shows as much but they still expected me to grovel and grovel. They end the interview saying that successful candidates will have to complete a trial day to be considered, oh and the salary is significantly below what others offer. A trial day in a capital city where it basically costs one hour of minimum wage for a return journey on public transport? For a role that pays fuck all? Didn't even take ten minutes and it seems to be something that couldve been done over the phone or even right after the first round.
Left with a foul taste in my mouth and time I'll never get back gone, am debating withdrawing my application as me and the director definitely did not click, but it seems petty and I need the money
