Know your worth and get it in writing!

My coworker left a company because they were tired of being micromanaged and office politics. My coworker was very good at what they do and was very passionate about the company's core values but left to come work in an HR role. Yesterday I stopped by and they tell me that the last company had reached out trying to get them to return, but they turned down the offer. The company counter-offered with the old “what will it take to get you back”. My coworker layed out their conditions: less oversight, preferred work location of their choice, and more money. The company agreed and my coworker told them to send the offer in writing, which they did. I know it's not the usual doom and gloom, but it's good to see an individual get what they're worth.
