Left a company that had been taken over by the Feds for another job that promised me a full time position after this contract work was completed. Was not explicitly promised but I took the job with alot of assurances made that they would keep me on as long as I did nothing wrong or crazy.
Well, exactly 2 months later, I was laid off due to “budget cuts,” which makes no sense because they literally just hired new people and never once told me anything but how well of a job I was doing.
I'm so pissed!! Had I just stayed at my previous job, I would have 1 – made more money ($4 extra per hour and not spent money on public trabsportation to get there and gotten severance when eventually we were all let go) and 2 – I'd still have a job today!! Those mother f-ers gave no warning and no good justification for letting me go. I know it wasn't personal because the other person that started with me left the same day too.
