Laid off – Feeling really lost, stressed, depressed, and panicking. Need serious advice

Hey everyone, I'm going through an incredibly stressful and confusing situation right now, and I could really use some advice and support. I recently landed what seemed like a dream job – great benefits, the best pay I've ever received, and I even moved closer to work to make things easier, planning to stay for many years. However, just 3 months into my new job, I was unexpectedly laid off (I received a call while in the bathroom of all places) and I'm feeling lost. This is my first time being in a situation like this, and it's hitting me hard. The reason given was that I wasn't the best fit and that the company was restructuring. Hey everyone,

I'm going through an incredibly stressful and confusing situation right now, and I could really use some advice and support.

I thought I was doing well and meeting their goals, so this came as a shock. I still feel it was another issue, perhaps just me not being very social.

I'm only 22 and have limited work experience, having held two previous jobs that weren't remarkable. I really don't want to go back to retail or fast food, and I feel like I'm in a tight spot given the current job market.

I'm also unsure of how this will look on my resume and what to say to future employers. It's all new territory for me.

I did receive a severance package that is equivalent to 3 weeks of pay, but I'm not sure if it's a lump sum or if I'm eligible for unemployment in California I'll be looking into that, but if anyone has experience or advice with this, I'd appreciate your insights.

Right now, I'm just trying to calm down and figure out my next steps. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening.
