My boss said my team have too much personal leave time built up and need to work toward reducing these hours immediately.
So I logged on to their system and applied for leave starting from tomorrow.
Soon after, I was called into a meeting, where I was told by two leaders that they wouldn't be able to fulfill my request. I said, “no problem, I was just responding to what you asked us to do…”
They went on to very gently, very seriously ask me whether I had something “incredibly important to attend to tomorrow” and I said, without thinking, and without hesitation:
“No, I just don't want to be here.”
