To all the folks who feel bad to leave their employer, I wanna say you do you. YOU have to look out for yourself first. Your employer would literally not think twice to fire you. Same for coworkers too. Before I started my new job, I used to be very nice and built a lot of good connection given I’m in HR. My director was a bitch to everyone, so I tried to be the nice and understanding one. Because of that, everyone said they prefer me over the director when having HR related questions.
You’ll think when you leave or something, they’ll treat you nice as well. When I went back to return my equipments, I was treated like an intruder by my peers who I talked to everyday when I was still there. The one person who talked to me everyday now treats me like a stranger and asking to escort me to my desk without no one asking him. That one individual used to talk to me everyday, they would ask about HR, ask about hiring, and I would kindly talk and make them feel comfortable. Who knew they’ll treat and view me as untrustworthy as I no long an employed with them.
So in short, you do you. No one literally will help you at the end of the day but just watch and be bystanders. Get the higher job, make more money, and ignore that “feeling”. Screw that “But I have Nice Coworkers feeling”. You don’t know if they’re nice or just being fake. It’s a job and we’re all just there for pay. My two cent rant of the day.
