Legal questuon: Skirting Ot

I work for the Grocery Monopoly in Missouri. Lately they've been cracking down on Overtime in a way that feels vaguely illegal. At the beginning of the week they told us how much OT we each had a crewed on the payperiod thus far, and told us we had to cut it by either taking a longer lunch(our are unpaid) or leaving early by the number of minutes(or otherwise) we are over. This feels like it shouldn't be legal? We accumulated this OT fairly, and so shorting our hours on it, even through these methods sounds like time card fraud. Anyone with knowledge on labor laws have insight or advice? Edit: this also apparently coincides with the TLs being given mandatory overtime of Store Inventory coming up
