I was hired by a union to be an inside organizer at a local factory. It should have been easy to get an entry level job at the factory, but they changed their criteria for new hires right after I applied and I was rejected for not having enough relevant experience, so the union dropped me.
I'm so fucking tired. I had this incredible opportunity fall into my lap to not only have a decent paying job with health insurance, but I was going to be paid to do labor organizing work that I'm truly passionate about.
I've been applying for other jobs for months, but no one will let me work without experience. I'm a linecook with a performing arts degree. I'm aging out of my parents health insurance in 6 months. I haven't felt this close to ending my life in years but literally what is the point anymore.
