Loyalty for employers

I have become my own worst enemy because that’s what I was taught growing up. Work hard, be a loyal employee, and money and promotions will come. My parents followed this path and retired after 20+ years with their companies. I have lived this cycle several times now, only to be laid off when times were tough. I now report one spot below the CEO and am responsible for half of North America and all of South America. Despite my “loyalty” to the company, I now make less than I did two promotions ago. Seeing these salary posts on other channels kills me. I have limited myself by millions just because I am loyal to my employer. What has changed…

Despite my “loyalty” to the company, I now make less than I did two promotions ago. Seeing these salary posts on other channels kills me. I have limited myself by millions just because I am loyal to my employer. What has changed other than corporate greed? TBH I do t care about the millions other than the cost of living increases are killing me from the last 4-5 years.
