Management bumped my full time benefits down to part time

Apparently using my PTO to attend my kids school meetings and doctors appointments has made my manager bump me full time PTO accrue from full time to part time. I asked about if I hit my full 80 hours instead or work more, would they go back, she shrugged. They still expect me to hit 80 hours a week still. Is this a demotion? Is this legal? She refused to out it in writing. Currently looking for other employment because of this. (And the shitty work environment.)
