For context i am a POC. some of my coworkers today told me that another employee has been making racially charged comment towards me and another of my coworker. They even told me that when a black customer walked up to the register this employee went to grab mace “just in case”. when i brought this to the attention of my manager he told “this cannot be true” because he would’ve heard about it before now. and also said i was “making assumptions”. I feel quite dismissed and frankly upset. what should the next step be if my employers don’t take this situation seriously? I’m definitely thinking about quitting but my work place needs to take accountability.
