It's appraisal cycle and I had submitted my self-review a week back. Got a call today from my manager telling me to lower my rating as there is room for improvement in my work. I told him that if he has any feedback for my work I will be happy to work on it and he can provide the same on manager review, but I won't be changing my self-rating as I had given it based on work I had done and its from my perspective. His reasoning was also BS: leadership team may think that we're not in harmony based on rating difference (BS argument tbh). In my past experience I was never asked by manager to change my rating and this was a weird experience. Will update here what happens next.
