I’m a tech, so it means I and others with my job title do all the dirty work in the backroom. Change/repair tires and wheels. It can be very backbreaking on a long busy day. I started off at $16/hr last year. My company pays managers an 80-90k base salary plus 15 percent of store profit in a one time a year bonus. My manager made 250k last year, and I’m pretty sure he’s on track to make even more this year. 99% of the time, he just walks around watching us, and barks at us to hurry up if we’re taking too long. It’s what he’s supposed to do, and he’s a good guy. I’ve also heard that regional managers, which I believe is a step above him, make high 6 figures, almost $1 million a year. Can’t confirm it though. But our regional manager comes in to visit every month or two, greets everyone and has a lighthearted conversation with our manager. Doesn’t seem like a bad job at all. No one else in my store makes much over $20/hr.
It’s not so much about how much managers make. It’s great they are paying them extremely well as they did have to work their way up, but they can definitely pay us working like dogs in the backroom a lot more if they can pay managers that much
