So I took on this job and finally got my first paycheck, only to be surprised that I’m getting a dollar less an hour than I thought I was going to get.
Stupid me didn’t think to discuss wage in the interview because the ad was pretty clear and I was fine with the low end of their range.
I text the manager to question the disparity and he says that he put the wrong numbers in and changed the ad ten minutes after posting and that I applied so quickly that I saw the wrong ad.
This is on indeed and I still have the ad that I responded to in my jobs file. As well as a screenshot of the ad.
I know in new York and California they have a transparency in wages thing , but this is Montana and I feel like I’m stuck.
I have a friend who’s an attorney and they’re asking one of their colleges in employment law if I have any ground to stand on, but I think I’m just screwed.
Primarily even if this was an honest mistake I feel lied to and cheated.
