As a rule I don't talk about staff to other staff – I talk to my family at home when I am frustrated. My place of work is very 'office politics' in terms of a lot of staff talk about other staff the second they leave the room, this has always made me very uncomfy and I don't participate in the conversations. I go quiet and leave the office space.
An area manager has recently texted me from an office I haven't worked at for about 3 months (I move between 4 offices depending on where I'm needed). It started off as her asking me to come in for a Saturday shift to cover another employee, a second later she messaged me that I wouldn't be needed as I refused to work with 'staff A' and said even though staff A wouldn't be working that shift I wouldn't be needed because I never come to her and instead bad mouth staff A to everyone and I wouldn't be welcome in her office until I talk to her about my gossiping?!!!
I'm confused as staff a is actually one of my favourite co workers so I message back that I haven't said anything if the sort.
She messages back that 'Staff member b' told her that. I have only ever said hi and bye to this second person.
What do I do? The text was horrible and aggressive and I'm only 20 and this is my first real cooperative job, this manager hates me and I don't know what I did – she often tells people to not be like me and that at least they are on her side. I'm lost as I don't know if people are going to believe me when I say I have never said such a thing
