Manager says “just be sick at work instead”

I work in sales, meaning I talk to people for a living. Sometimes 3-4 families a day for close to 2 hours each, my voice is crucial to my job. I recently just got over a battle with bronchitis, still coughing all day, and my voice is coarse. I can barely talk for longer than 10 minutes without losing my voice. I tell my boss this information; “Look I'm coughing hard all day, I don't have a voice and I can't make it through an entire conversation. I don't think it's worth coming in if I can't do my job.” Essentially told me to just come in anyway, I'm salary so whatever. Within the first 5 minutes of talking, my voice gave out once again. Rather than just send me home, I'm scheduled 3 seperate families today. I'm excited to see how well I sell something if I can't speak.…

On top of everything, within one day of coming back to work, someone else is already out sick with a cough. So that's fun too
