So a few months ago, I took off for an event. Unfortunately, the event was cancelled, so I asked my manager if she wanted me to simply cancel my planned PTO or just go on it. She told me not to worry about it and to just take the time off. I've been looking forward to the time increasingly ever since as I've been incredibly tired.
Today, however, my boss writes me on Slack from out of nowhere asking about the event and confirming it was canceled. I confirmed, a little confused. She said she forgot to cancel the PTO and was going to do so. I reminded her that she said to just take the time off. She still nearly cancelled it because she is slow to check her messages on Slack. Then she wrote back that she remembered because of how the days were placed. Ugh…
This cannot be normal, can it?
