I[20F] work at a front desk in a hotel and am incharge of managing restro supplies too. The vodka in the inventory (almost a quarter ) was gone with no record of any selling of it.
I informed my manager as soon as I found out and asked him to check footage of the locker. Only he has the access to cameras. He just smiled and said “i’ll look for it” but did nothing about it. The second time he said the same shit but asked me to keep a low profile about it so that he could catch the culprit easily. The third time I asked he told me “it’s been a month already, how am i gonna watch 30 days of footage.” Yesterday, when we had to submit report of inventory i asked again and he proceeded to tell me its our fault so we both should bear the cost of it.
I was furious. I told him I could watch the footage for him and he made silly excuses like his phone doesnt support that only camera, even if it did, it doesnt show night time footage clearly. He got angry seeing me angry and said “only you have the key, so youre responsible for it.” I have the key for 9 hours and after my shift is over, I hand them to the next. He then said “Maybe you couldve sold the vodka in the morning when nobodys there.” He started to shout at me, intimidate me. I felt physically threatened. When I proceeded to call the boss, he shouted like a madman. I left immediately and left a text to my boss saying i quit.
When my boss asked, my boss said that he casually said “oh we just had a little discussion.” Boss visited me immediately asking where i was. I met him at a restaurant and he requested me to come in work the next day and that he’ll organize a meeting. now at this morning manager’s acting like nothing happened. This is my first time experiencing this situation What do i do?
