PSA to anyone who’ll listen. Do not ever trust a manager/director/supervisor, no matter your past with them. They will just as quickly put you on a PIP and show you the door as any other, maybe quicker.
In my case, had a “friend” coworker for 7 years on a Gov contract, I got him his current job after our previous contract fell through. As soon as he became the PM, I received a PIP and within a month I was fired for “poor performance” despite designing, implementing and maintaining the data systems and reports and quite often being lauded for being a high performer. 7 years, from the ground up, worked alongside this guy and he just as quickly fired me.
Remember fellow workers, give no company or manager your loyalty. They certainly do not have it toward you.
