Mandatory Lunch

Looking for someone with actual HR experience. Texas company, over 250 employees. Non-exempt, salaried employees and different departments have different rules regarding lunch. Some are told that they have to work eight hours and take a lunch. Some are not held to the same requirement. These are different departments, but all have the same employment classification. Example: 8 to 5 with required 1 hour lunch or 8 to 4 with lunch at desk Hi, once worked at a company where the manager said that everyone had to arrive by 8 AM except for the people with kids. I talk to HR and she said that this was not legal and corrected the manager. I have a feeling this is about to come to ahead at my company, so I just want to know what is legal or illegal for them to require and can it be a department requirement versus…

I am kind of sick of arriving before coworkers and leaving after my coworkers because I’m told I have to take a lunch and they aren’t
