Mangers are delusional

In the US at a large insurance company (auto, home, etc). Won't name names , but we go with the “Flo”.. Today the head of our department after saying they were raising work rates and saying there won't be pay increases (due to markets) told us there are things other than “monetary incentives ” . WTF is wrong with people in management. And also told us that it's more about the quality of time spent with people we care about than the quantity… also this week they decided we need to plan on working more holidays (memorial day, 4th of July, MLK day) and that they would reevaluate for any later in the year holidays
