I work in a US owned company in the UK, in a warehouse. It’s a small shopfloor team, 3 of us, but we’re pretty much spot on with absolutely everything in the works.
Today, a mass email from a hybrid working colleague in sales came through, CC’d, the American managers about how he wants to litter pick at our place and around our industrial estate as part of keeping our community clean. Oh, and that he’s going to buy some litter pickers and wants us to do the same. And something about his beliefs in keeping the area tidy.
Well, the works already do do our own yard and around our unit. And we already have litter pickers. And my belief is I’m not working unless I’m being paid.
Not only has he brown nosed he’s also snubbed us in the process. Bollocks to him and anyone that falls for it. Other sales have already replied ‘I’ll help’. Where are they going to stop? Three cities away?
It would be much more impressive if he got a sponsored walk for charity.
When I started a charity fundraiser called cash for kids 3 years ago, he didn’t bat an eye. I didn’t do it for points, I did it for the kids.
Just ranting here. I won’t do the litter picking. I won’t reply to this dick.
