Massachusetts Cannabis Workers Might Go On STRIKE if a bargain can’t be reached.

We don’t want to go on #STRIKE – but we will if we need to. I’ve been a cultivator of cannabis for one of the biggest MSOs (AYR) in the country for the last 2.5 years. We have been a union shop for three years. Our contract expired on Monday. I think we can all agree that the world has changed significantly in the last three years and we definitely need a new contract that guarantees us a livable wage, time and a half on Sundays for budtenders, comprehensive health insurance that is affordable, a real retirement plan, a better work life balance by providing us with more PTO and sick time- just a few days more than what is the State mandated bare minimum, and importantly, respect on the job. We’re not lazy stoners or a bunch of spoiled kids. We are hard working Americans with families to support…

We are hard working Americans with families to support and want to live meaningful lives.
We take tremendous pride in our work- despite David’s attempts to turn us into “The Wal*Mart of Weed”.

We tried to start negotiations back in June knowing that our contract would expire in September, and wanting to get out ahead of the deadline. David has dragged his feet and refused to bargain in good faith. The latest concession he sent was an insulting offer that was less than our last contract.

Please support all of the hard working folks at AYR/Sira by signing this letter to David. We’re hoping to apply pressure on him to come to the table and bargain fairly in order to avoid a strike.
