Hi there, I'm currently on medical leave and seeking more information on what might be going on with my claim from anyone who has dealt with this group.
In mid-September I experienced a serious breakdown after denying that I was in a mental health crisis for some time. I had been doing the work of 2+ people on my own for a month and a half on 12 hour shifts and was in deep denial about the toll it was taking on me. I quit my job on the spot but was convinced to go on medical leave through matrix instead. I don't intend on going back to that job at this point and have already secured other employment after my leave ends. The reason I chose to go on medical leave rather than quit entirely was to hang on to my insurance until November and to provide a bit of a financial cushion between jobs – the only problem is that they seem to he dragging their feet. I recently purchased a home in August (great timing.) and am lucky to have family who are willing to help financially, but I hate asking anyone for money. I was sent a letter of approval a week ago but my claim is still pending. I looker at the reviews and complaints for matrix on BBB and its making me incredibly nervous about the whole situation – I'm afraid that I won't see any backpay for months. Does anyone have any personal experience with them? My claims person is impossible to get in contact with and doesn't return calls and any updates over the phone I get are 'your claim is being looked over' or whatever.
