Measuring “productivity”

I work in commercial real estate. Our work is cyclical. First half the month is very busy, with a lot of people working unpaid overtime. Second half the month is much slower, with not much to do. We were just told that they've been measuring “productivity” on Mondays and Fridays and it's much lower. Pretty sure that just means mouse clicks. We were told if there isn't anything to do, find something to do. When I was first hired, and occasionally since then, I will suggest a project and my manager always turns it down. I hate this stupid company. And oh no, I've been pooping for too long while writing this post! Better get back to my laptop and make random mouse clicks so they think I'm working!!
